Nancy Pelosis Recent Stock Portfolio Update Discover Her New Purchases

Nancy Pelosi, known for her previous role as Speaker of the House and her lucrative stock investments, has been under scrutiny for her recent trading activities. After a quiet start to 2024, Pelosi made significant sales and purchases on July 3. She sold up to $1.5 million of Visa and Tesla shares and bought up to $10 million worth of Nvidia and Broadcom shares and options.

The purchase of Nvidia shares is particularly noteworthy as Pelosi has a history of successful trades with the stock. In early 2024, she reportedly made more than her annual congressional salary with her investment in Nvidia, thanks to the company’s strong stock market performance. If Nvidia continues to perform well in the second half of the year, Pelosi’s new shares could potentially earn her over $1 million.

The Broadcom call options also hold potential for significant upside, as the Street consensus suggests that Broadcom stock will rise at least another 11% in the coming year.

On the other hand, Pelosi’s sale of Tesla shares appears to have been ill-timed, resulting in a loss of approximately $400,000. Despite this, the recent surge in Tesla’s stock price following a delivery report suggests that the loss could have been significantly minimized had Pelosi held onto the shares a bit longer.

In contrast, Pelosi’s sale of Visa shares has been decisively profitable, as the current price of Visa stock is approximately $270, significantly higher than when Pelosi made the purchase back in 2011.

Overall, Pelosi’s recent trading activities have drawn attention and raised questions about her financial decisions. While some investments have proven successful, others have led to significant losses.
